چکیده

We extend the recent microscopic analysis of extremal dyonic Kaluza-Klein (D0D6) black holes to cover the regime of fast rotation in addition to slow rotation. Fastly rotating black holes, in contrast to slow ones, have non-zero angular velocity and possess ergospheres, so they are more similar to the Kerr black hole. The Dbrane model reproduces their entropy exactly, but the mass gets renormalized from weak to strong coupling, in agreement with recent macroscopic analyses of rotating attractors. We discuss how the existence of the ergosphere and superradiance manifest themselves within the microscopic model. In addition, we show in full generality how Myers-Perry black holes are obtained as a limit of Kaluza-Klein black holes, and discuss the slow and fast rotation regimes and superradiance in this context.

Rotating Kaluza-Klein Black Holes

All regular four-dimensional black holes are constructed in the theory obtained by Kaluza-Klein reduction of five-dimensional Einstein gravity. They are interpreted in string theory as rotating bound states of D0and D6-branes. In the extremal limit the solutions are stable, due to angular momentum conservation. The thermodynamics, the duality symmetries, and the near-horizon limit are explored.

Cardy-Verlinde Formula and asymptotically flat rotating Charged black holes

The Cardy-Verlinde formula is generalized to the asymptotically flat rotating charged black holes in the Einstein-Maxwell theory and low-energy effective field theory describing string by using some typical spacetimes, such as the Kerr-Newman, Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton-axion, Kaluza-Klein, and Sen black holes. For the Kerr-Newman black hole, the definition of the Casimir energy takes the same fo...

Holographic Duals of Kaluza-Klein Black Holes

We apply Brown-Henneaux’s method to the 5D extremal rotating Kaluza-Klein black holes essentially following the calculation of the Kerr/CFT correspondence, which is not based on supersymmetry nor string theory. We find that there are two completely different Virasoro algebras that can be obtained as the asymptotic symmetry algebras according to appropriate boundary conditions. The microscopic e...

Fermions tunnelling from the charged dilatonic black holes

Kerner and Mann’s recent work shows that, for an uncharged and non-rotating black hole, its Hawking temperature can be correctly derived by fermions tunnelling from its horizons. In this paper, our main work is to improve the analysis to deal with charged fermion tunnelling from the general dilatonic black holes, specifically including the charged, spherically symmetric dilatonic black hole, th...

Black Holes in Higher-dimensional Gravity *

These lectures review some of the recent progress in uncovering the phase structure of black hole solutions in higher-dimensional vacuum Einstein gravity. The two classes on which we focus are Kaluza-Klein black holes, i.e. static solutions with an event horizon in asymptotically flat spaces with compact directions, and stationary solutions with an event horizon in asymptotically flat space. Hi...
